Hello, I am Alexa Heung! I have always sought to use my camera as a tool to uplift, honor, and empower. With a background in education, holding a California K-12 art credential, I have taught photography to 150 teens daily in Oakland USD, interned under Kimberley D'Adamo's IB studio art at Berkeley High, and led a darling band of 1st grade English learners in San Francisco's Chinatown. My gift for intuiting and encouraging attributes of strength in young people melds with a love of all things visual; producing images that are clear, bold, refreshing, and full of life. With undergraduate training in art practice at the University of California, Santa Barbara I look to celebrate dynamic communities on a project basis throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Commissions include The AjA Project, The Alameda County Office of Education, and an eclectic list of local creative non-profits. I am oh-so-joyfully married to a beloved instrumental music teacher and we make our home in the beautiful East Bay with our sweet daughter and another baby on the way.
